Dear all,

We have to bend a plate with an angle of 15º (more or less) but our costumer only say "not cold bending is allowed".

We want to know a standard to know at how many degrees, How much area we have to heat etc.

someone can tell me a standard that indicates how you should bend a hot plate? Thanks.

If the plate is less than 1/2" thick and the bending angle is no more than 15 deg, cold bending should suffice, but you need a subsequent heat treatment for stress-relief.

Thanks leo5cn,

We always use cold bending for the plates but with this new client only allow cold bending for plates up to 6 mm thicknes and <90º. And bending radius minimum is 3x thickness. But they don't say nothing about temperature.
