We are discussing if it is needed to design a coker naphtha HT unit with equipment so it would be possible to carry out a hot H2 stripping of the catalyst. I would like to know if anyone has ever experienced the need for hot H2 stripping of a coker naphtha cat, or if would adwise against it.

Thanks.

Can you clarify what the intention is to perform a Hot hydrogen strip in the reactor. Unless it is for shutodwn to remove all hydrocarbons. Do you have any other objective with the H2 stripp?

For the shutdown case the upstream heater should normally be sufficient for the heat needed. The problem with removing hydrocarbon from the cat is to know when it is complete, this is normally an empirical exercise.
