I am having trouble with the shear check results being given by RISA-3D. I have a W8x35 that has a max Vy of 10.229 k and a max Vz of 9.068 k. The program lists the capacities as phi*Vny = 75.516 k and phi*Vnz = 214.375 k, respecively. However, it shows the max shear check as 0.931
, even though my forces appear to be nowhere near there. Furthermore, when I looked through the user reference, I found that it states the shear UC check is "based on the shear provisions of chapter F." In AISC 360, the shear provisions are contained in chapter G. The model uses AISC 14th (360-10) LRFD. Should I ignore the RISA shear check?
