How can a Datum Feature Symbol be p 1

How can a Datum Feature Symbol be placed on an independent extension line in NX10? Currently I am only able to place a Datum Feature Symbol on a dimension extension line, or an actual feature.

Are you selecting the appropriate Leader Type from the dialog? If you want just an extension line without any arrowhead or datum "head", use Flag. This, of course, assumes you're using the correct Drafting Standard in your Customer Defaults or Templates.
