How can I introduce velocity in thermal analysis

Hello,

I have done static thermal analysis and now I would like to introduce velocity to the tube.
Is it possible to introduce velocity in thermal analysis?
How can I do?

In a thermal analysis are no translational or rotational DOF at the nodes of the elements, so you cannot have any movement. Only *Motion allows movement of regions in a pure thermal analysis.

You can use a fully coupled temperature-displacement step and here you can apply gravity loads or velocity boundary conditions. But the mechanical part of this procedure is static, so you won't have inertia effects. See Abaqus Analysis Users Guide 6.5.3 Fully coupled thermal-stress analysis

Only A/Explicit has a fully coupled procedure which is dynamic for the mechanical domain.

Thanks a lot for your suggestion, I will try to do it.
In the other hand, now I am trying to introduce movement effect with mass flow rate case. I have read in abaqus documentation that when the problem is uncoupled problem you can introduce the movement with mass flow rate.

I am trying to carry out but I have convergence problem. This is maybe because I have big temperature data? If I do not consider mass flow rate option, I have not problem with thermal analysis.
Do you have any idea?

If there is movement then the heat transfer coefficients would alter. In addition radiation between surfaces would also change as distance between two surfaces altered. You'd have to use a coupled temperature-displacement model to see the effects of radiation and would probably have to use some kind of user subroutine to see heat transfer coefficients alter.

The rigid body movement with *Motion allows movement in a pure thermal analysis with radiation.
