I have tested SAP2000 many times. It does acurately catch Euler buckling value Pcr.

But with short columns where slenderness is low, the result reported would be meaningless because Euler value is not applicable in that range

I am sure pals have figured out how to get around this modelling issue.

Any idea will be highly appreciated.

Merry Xmas

If buckling is elastic, you can use Eigen buckling analysis case to determine buckling factor. But if nonlinear buckling (assuming no material nonlinear behavior, only geometric nonlinear behavior), you would use nonlinear P-delta with large deformation analysis case.

Use SAP's result to get elastic buckling stresses that can then be reduced using Spec. inelastic buckling equations. For example, you need Fe in AISC 2005 Sect. E3 to get Fcr.
