We have a small project in Europe, starting production of Torx screws for timber applications/wood furniture/ like the one in the picture.
We found that most widely imported screws from China use C1022 carbon steel, which should be equivalent to AISI 1022.
However, we have only AISI 1010 (SAE 1010) steel available in the local market.
How are the properties of the two compared, with timber application/wood furniture/ in mind?

Unless the loads are very low I doubt that you will work harden the 1010 enough to get the same strength that they do in 1022.
But you should be able to look up data and see. You do know the properties of the ones in 1022?
