How do I delete reference while in sketcher

I'm still trying get ride of a parent/child relationship.
I did receive a response from MCADTrans. I'm having trouble with his suggestion. One of them is to delete the reference while in sketcher. I cannot find any delete icon. Is the something that has to be turned on in my config file. Also, not sure how to do the other suggestion.

From the top menus hit Sketch-->References

A dialog box will pop up listing all of your references, pick what you don't want and hit Delete.
