How do I easily display part volumes?

I'm trying to come up with an easy way to display the volume of all the parts in our PDM vault without actually going into every single part and entering the data. It's easy to create a parameter in the part, but since we have hundreds of parts, I can't help thinking there's an easier way. Volume already exists in every SolidWorks part as "SW-Volume". The ultimate goal is to click on a part in PDMWorks and see the volume there as a parameter. Does anyone know of a way to accomplish this without entering data hundreds of times, or do I need to grit my teeth, hunker down and start entering data?

Thanks for the assistance.

I can't think of any way to do this, but if you had a macro that put that information in for you... that would make it much easier. Although you would still have to open each part separatly. Unless you can make some type of Batch running program, to open each part.

Just my thoughts on the subject

I thought of using a macro, but the problem I'm having is that I can't use a macro to input file properties. Macros only seem to want to do actual SolidWorks functions. (Imagine that!)

Then make an App to put that data in. There are plenty of Custom property apps out there that might do what your looking for. Such as this one -
