I've copied the material library to our server and edited some of the hatch styles. However, when amaterial is applied to a part, the hatch style does not appear in the 2D section view.

Is there a setting somewhere?

Thanks,

Yes,

Check the Default ISO or ANSI standard. it will work.

Edit your Drawing standard file.

I am not sure what is wrong, but not even the rendering is appearing on the part model for the applied material.

I double click on the applied material in the specification tree and it shows the hatch style that I desire (I edited the aluminum hatch pattern). However, the section view shows it as a default pattern... not even the out of box aluminum pattern.

I figured the rendering out...i had the wrong rendering style selected. However, my hatches still are not showing corectly. Regardless of which material I select, the hatch looks the same on the section views.

Its not every material, its only the ones that I changed (Aluminum). If I apply brass, the hatch appears correctly.

As mentioned above, if I were to change the hatch pattern for brass, if would show incorrectly.

How do I fix this?

Sorry, but I have another observation. If I hit the browse button and select one of the predefined hatch patterns, it works. However, if I create my own pattern (Edit the pitch and offset of the 2 hatches) itdoes not show in the 2D section view...Catia seems to select a random pattern.

do you use the default ISO or ANSI standard ?

if not have a look at + View + Generation + Material Cut Pattern in your Standard. It should be set to Material.

I do have my standard set to material. But like i said, it appears to be connected with customizing the hatch pattern. If I choose to change the Pattern for aluminum and select one of the already created patterns and make no addition changes, the new hatch appears on the section view. But if I edit the patterns offset, pitch or add an addition hatch, the pattern does not automatically appear. I must manually update the hatch pattern to get it to appear correctly.

do you work with a new drawing or an exixting one, if so you need to File / Page Setup / Update Standard...

the standard is given to the CATDrawing at creation of the file. Changing your Standard File will not change the one inside the CATDrawing, you need to update it.

We start with existing drawings/Titleblocks (New From), but I have open each of them, updated and saved.

I created a new drawing without the existing drawing and I still do not get the correct pattern.

Have you tried to edited an existing pattern as mentioned above? Do they shown in your section views?

Thanks,

open and save file do not change the standard inside the File... you have to update standard from File / page setup...

does it work if you staart a new drawing from a really new file using your standard ?
