I have created a part using Pro/e 2000i2.This part is basically 60 inches in dia, 5/8 thick, with random protrusions around its perimeter. The design has 2024 3/4 dia holes thru it, with 1/32 chamfer on both sides. The hole pattern is a cluster of three holes 1.00 inch center to center in the 'X' direction, and .866 inch in the 'Y' direction offset by .50 inch in the 'X' dir. Each row and column has a different number of holes do to the parts outer configuration.
I created these 2024 holes by patterning the first hole in each row, adding the chamfers, until I had one quarter of the 60-inch dia filled with chamfered holes. I then copy/mirrored using a horz default datum plane. This gave me one half of the 2024 holes. I then copy/mirrored these 1012 holes using the default vertical datum plane, this gave me all my 2024 chamfered holes.
NOW FOR MY PROBLEM!
Using a 1.8 GHz P4, w/1.5 gig of Ram and Qutro4/750 graphics card, it takes five plus hours to regenerate this model after making any changes to these holes.
How can I reduce the regeneration time?
