How do I modify the grid?

I am using a customer's Autocad LT 2009 and I would like to modify the grid in ways that are not obvious in the Options. When I work with a white background and turn on the grid, the dots are so tiny they are nearly impossible to see. The screen resolution allows me to see at one zoom values but not others. I have experimented with different crosshair colors which is also the dot color. Is there any way to make the dots appear larger?

Also, I would much prefer an actual grid of lines rather than the dots of the intersections. Can this be set differently? Is there a utility that will do this?

Instead of a white background, use the black background. I personally do not like the white background for this reason and when you color your objects.
A grid of lines may be too confusing when drawing objects. I don't know how to change from dots to lines, so I suspect someone with LISP programing skills could do that change. You could make your own array and invoke OSNAPs for intersections and end points if that is any consolation.

Thanks for your reply. I didn't make myself clear. You are right that the dot/grid shows up better on a dark background, I prefer the dark myself because at the end of the day my eyes aren't so tired (smile). But I'm not using a white "background", it's actually black. I am tracing over a .png file of an electronic schematic with black lines on white paper which I can't change.

I have used CATIA for more than 12 years which has a grid of lines, not dots, that can be controlled. I was just wondering if the dots in Autocad are user controllable. I have Autocad 2008 in my own office but at this customer's site I have to use LT 2009.

Just a personal question about your screen name. Isn't that the name of the girl (Debbie Reynolds) in the movie "The Unsinkable Molly Brown"? That's what the guy called her, anyway.

Grids can be displayed as lines or dots-in versions 2010+ anyway, not sure about your versions.

I followed the link and looked at it and I guess I will have to wait until this company moves on to 2010 or later.

I made a workaround but changed the settings in Adobe Acrobat where the file is created. Now I get a .png output file that has white lines on a black background. Works for me.
