I have created a SW 'tear' drop shaped handle with a 2mm skirt around the perimeter. The shape was constructed from a lofted surface, mirrored, and thickened to 2mm. I want to sink or impress into the skirt surface, some 2D artwork on to the multi-curved surfaces. The artwork will be saved in 2D & different format.
1. What would be a suitable format for the artwork to save to? I was thinking in terms of PDF. Can I import that, convert it to do a sketch on the surface, & cut?
2. How would I proceed with a perpendicular SW impression or cut on the part?

1) Illustrator (.ai) format can be imported into a sketch.

2) Try the Wrap function.
