How do i use the loft tool?

I am doing a project for school and i forgot how to use the loft tool. im trying to cut out an angled loft from the top of a 4"x2"x2.5" rectangular prism. can someone help out?

You need two unconsumed sketches. Start the loft tool and then select the two sections.
