Hello,

Is there an easy way to move a sketch from one plane to another? I am trying to move a sketch that was imported from AutoCAD from the Front Plane to the Top Plane where it consistently arrives during the “import to a new part” operation.

Thanks

An alternaitve opton if the sketch doesn't translate properly from one sketch plane to another (switching to a new plane perpendicular to the original plane may give you problems).

Simply open the skecth on the Front Plane as you have it.
Select all of the entities (lines/arcs/etc...)
Along the top menu 'Edit' -> 'Copy'
Then pick the Top Plane as your new sketch plane
Along the top menu 'Edit' -> 'Paste'

This also allows you to keep the original sketch un-modified if you need to reference it later.

In addition to Lou's suggestion, if the new sketch location is parallel to the old sketch, simply set the old sketch to show and then open the new sketch and convert entities of the old sketch. This will allow the two to be linked if needed. If not, select view relations and delete all.
