Greetings:

A drawing of a top level assembly Z consist of part A, B, C and D has been created. An user open only the Z assy without the drawing file and rename the part to E, F, G, H and save the assy. How does Catia react when someone else open the drawing? Will it still be able to bring the drawing up or will it prompt that the part A, B, C, D can't be found?

Thanks for your time and help,

As long as it has not been physyically moved from its current location, the name update will carry over, and the drawing will open as always. The drawing name is just the external parameter.

This can be either a good or a bad thing, depending on what you are doing.

I should have also mentioned - I can't remember for sure, but
I think it DOES make a difference whether the file has been renamed internally or externally. In other words, if you do a File -> Save As, no problem. If you right click the file icon, and choose to rename, then I think you will have to go back and relink through File -> Desk. I can't remember for sure, (and I'm closed for the day) but that seems to be my past experience.
