The same operator would need to use clecos ,4 pins about 100 times/shift for a total of 400 clicks. Is that ergonomic?, I'm trying to avoid use of the clamps that come with it.

Is this the only thing the operator will be doing or are other tasks involved? Required actuation pressure for using the pins is dependent upon the pin selected for your application, you might consider contacting the manufacturer to see if they have an appropriate powered or pneumatic actuator for placing the pins.

No, he aligns his work content using CLECOS and when the work is done he removes CLECOS- Manufacturer suggest using clamps instead of hands, but the design engineer says he has used them before and they are just slightly harder than toggles on a pen. I thought I could use some opinion.

For what reason does he use the clecos? If it is to align the work pieces for fastening then design in some self alignment features like dimples in holes or tabs in slots? This would eliminate the clecos altogether.
Yes, we have used them but much prefer to not need to undo.
