In drawings how do you make glass see through?
I tend to fudge it by hiding the glass panels in front of what I want to actually see.
Thanks

In drawings or assemblies? Your question implies either.

For a drawing, you could make your view able to show hidden lines--but then you'll see everything behind the walls as well. I'm not sure if you can create a "transparent" part in an assembly drawing view, but you can do this within the context of an assembly on the part level. Otherwise keep hiding the parts like you're doing.

For part transparency within an assembly, you have more than one option, depending on what you want. The first option (might also work in DWGS) is to right-click a part you want to make transparent and click Change Transparency.

The second option is to open your window part, go to Tools > Options > Document Properties Tab > Colors. Click the Shading item and then the Advanced button. Move the Transparency slider to control the degree of visibility. When viewing the part in the context of the assembly, it will display this decree of transparency.

That's how I do it. In case of "semi transparent" parts (like punched steel sheet) I create a configuration, just for drawings, with the part parcially cuted.

You have never been able to show Transparent parts in drawings. You can use Shaded and then you can visibly see the Transparency.

If your drawing is regular object lines, not shaded, then you might try this. I think this would be easier in the assembly file, but you can also do this in the drawing file:
Create sketches to make object lines of the part you want to be "invisible". Pick that part in the assembly file and hide it, not suppress it. This also gives you the control of showing only the most pertinent aspects of the transparent part. I'd do this in the assembly file because it will be very easy to control the display of these sketches and of the transparent part. You might want to do this on a special configuration of the assembly file.

Refferring to a drawing of an assembly:

Use Alternate position view:
Make a config in the assembly model with the glass part hidden (call it clear).
In the drawing, insert a view and make sure the configuration shown is the 'clear' config (the one with the glass part(s) hidden.
Now click Insert, Drawing View, Alternate Position.
Select Existing Configuration, choose the 'default'
Click 'OK'

The glass part(s) edges are now shown with phantom lines and you can see through.
