Hi, I want to give some analysis on the tension-ed plate. The tension value is 3000 N/M.
Could someone tell me how to add this load in Patran? Since there are a lot of choice: force, total load, distributed load, CID distributed load, inital load etc.
Thanks in advance!

a total load is a pressure load where you specify the load in N or other force units as opposed to pressure where you specify the pressure.

i usually work out the total load to be applied and then use total load option.

the load is ofcourse force/unit area(pressure) x area or force/length x length

since most of my work involves applying certain magnitude forces rather than actual pressures

always check the oload in F06 file

The create-->distributedLoad--->element uniform is the best option to model running loads on the FEM.

Your suggestions above are a great help! Thanks a lot!
