Hi everyone,

Iam wondering on how to apply shear stress on the desired nodes of a part's surface. The direction of this stress is parallel to the part's surface.

Any response is very much appreciated.

Thank you.

You have to be more specific on the FEA tool/software you are using as the options available varies from one software to another.
But generally I would have thought your first step would have been to check the user manual of the software your are using and I am sure it will give you details on how to apply surface traction.

I have actually referred to Abaqus Manual, and done the surface traction. I could only apply stress load at the surface. However, Iam interested to apply traction load at certain nodes rather than a surface. Please do let me knows how to do this. Thank you.
