Hi,

Does anyone know the detailed steps on how I can successfully apply a teflon coating on a rubber diaphragm.

Thanks in advance,

Hi.

First, you'll need an adhesion promoter. Contact Lord Corporation ( and ask about their "Chem-Lock" product line. They work great.

Second, for your "Teflon", look to Acheson Colloids Company ( Their PTFE-based dispersions will serve you equally well.

Third, have others do your coating work for you. After all, applicators abound. Just look for those whose experience includes coating rubber. I recommend this for three reasons:

1) Adhesion promoters are especially hazardous to apply unless strict, proper precautions are taken.

2) Applying "Teflon" is both science and craft. For the best finish, why not leave it to the pros?

3) Economics.
