Dear all,
I am new to abaqus. I want to change the Young's modulus in during unloading Step in my non-linear kinematic hardening material. I have tried field variable which changed when I see in ABAqus Viewr, BUT unfortunately, I did not see any influence on Stress-strain curve before and after applying field variable. I also tried to change it by using subroutine as mentioned in this link ( but no use. In simple words I just want to see the effect of young's modulus while unloading. (i.e after decreasing its values from 300GPa to 150Gpa) it should show some effect in slop.
I have prepared a very simple model which takes some seconds to complete.
I will be really thankful if someone could tell me:

1)how can I different E dependent on PEEQ?
Or Simply
2) How can i use different E on each step.
LINK to my sample example= OUTPUT= Thanks in advance
regards,

Recommended for you

- Make you material pure elastic for the tests
- Define an initial condition and set the variable to 1
- Output RF2 at the node with the enforced displacement and look at that
- Consider a dummy step in between were only the FV is modified
- A full integrated element might be better suited for this test

Dear Mustaine3,
Thanks for your such a nice and brief response. I have followed your given instructions and saw change in One Element test (although quite minor) BUT when I applied the same method to my real simulation, it did not give me any change in behavior. I am uploading my .inp file (LINK: ). It will take only 30min to complete. I am also uploading results before and after the change of E which are SAME. I was expectecting more softening but unfortunately I did not get. I have also tried it to fully 3D model with fully integrated elements.
