How to choose correct Beam Splitter for 50/50 output with sealed beam co2 laser? S vs P pole

Been a while since I’ve done this. I think if laser is mounted Horizontally I need a P-pole and vertically an S-Pole, but I’m not 100% sure.

Thanks in advance

Wouldn't that depend on how your laser's polarization is oriented, relative to its base? S and P have nothing to do with how the laser is mounted, only how the polarization is generated within the laser optics.

That’s why I asked, I know with the old slow flow co2 lasers, the Coherent S48’s used P-Pole Splitter with plasma tubes parallel to the floor and the Photon V505 used S-Pole which had plasma tubes mounted perpendicular (90 degrees) to the floor. I believe our Sealed beam used S-Pole Splitters and those lasers were mounted perpendicular to the floor. Now we want to mount sealed beam horizontally so wasn’t sure if that would change the splitter type needed.
