How to choose the reciprocating pump?

This is the first time for me to deal with reciprocating pump.
I'd like to know how to select the pump.
How different in the choosing process between reciprocating pump and centrifugal.

By reciprocating pump are you referring to positive displacement pumps in general? Why are you set on reciprocating instead of say, screw pump? Please inform us of more of the details, such as what you are trying to pump, known viscosity of fluid, pressure, temperture, and flow rate
