Is there a way to combine all parts in an assembly into one solid body with no history? I tried saving as parasolid and step but when I open them back up the history is gone but they still retain individual parts of the assembly. I really would like one imported body of the entire assembly

You can't get one solid body unless the parts can actually be merged into one body - i.e. the parts intersect in some way. One way to acheive this is to save your assembly as a part, keeping all bodies. You can then combine any bodies that intersect. You'll have to add little features (extrudes, etc) to join any bodies that don't intersect. You can then save the single body as a parasolid, etc. and import it.
