Hi everybody,
i am analyzing a piezostructural construction. I have a pzt producing acoustic waves which propagate through a structural beam. At first I was using 8node element solid5 for the piezo and solid45 for the structural beam. I had very good convergence and results. I assume for the interface rigid-rigid and I assume no loses at the interface therefore I do not want to use contact -target elements.
I thought going to 20nodes as I want to put more volts to the piezo. So I used solid226 and solid95. Although I can see that the pyramid elements at the interface allign perfect no acoustic wave propagation towards the structural elements from the piezo elements occur. Why is that. Do I have to use contact-target elements. But how it is possible to work for the 8node elements and not for the 20nodes.
Thanks,
Theo.
