I have some drawings in imperial units that I want to re-dimension in metric. I've changed the Units, and had a go at alering the Scale, but I'm obviously missing something. Anyone know how? Thanks.

I would not change the scale but pick
the alternate dimension option which will
be in millimeters and multiply most dimensions
by 25.4 and select alternate dimensions only.
Otherwise you have to change all the dimension
parameters like arrow heads, extensions, etc.
by the same multiplier which truly would be
a pain. I assume you are talking about acad2000
or later. I think the same options were in r14
but not certain.

just do it at your command line

scale
all
0,0
25.4

thats all .

your entire drawing is in metric, maybe you need to update de dimension

diamondjim is absolutely correct, assuming that the objects are drawn full size. Use the dimension command ddim, change the format to decimal and change the "measurement scale factor" to 25.4. You can do this in the Primary units.

Pardal,
I have tried your method and you cannot
read the dimensions without changing all
of the parameters. I use the other method
consistantly. Your method indeed changes
the dimensions by the 25.4 multiplier or
scale, but the dimension heights are wee little
guys as they kept there old scale. Try
both and become a convert.
