How to convert STEP to sheet metal

Hi,
Is there a good method for converting a STEP file part with consistent thickness into a Pro-E sheetmetal part? If not an easy way is there a work-around way?

If it truly has constant thickness it should just be a matter of opening the file & picking applications/sheetmetal. Select a driving surface and you are done.
