I'm cannot copy geomery from one model to another. When I'm in my part and go to insert shared data, the only option I get is "from file" The "copy geometry" is grayed out. I have been attempting to follow the "carezone/tutorial/file/share" link with no success. What I would like to do is create a block and copy some surfaces and features to and on to IT. Any suggestions????
Am I missing something?? Is there some sort of change that has to happen in my config file or make a change in the tools options????

HELP!!!!!!

You probably need to set some or all of these config.pro options:

ALLOW_REF_SCOPE_CHANGE YES
DEFAULT_EXT_REF_SCOPE ALL
DEFAULT_OBJECT_SCOPE_SETTING ALL
DEFAULT_OBJECT_INVALID_REFS COPY
IGNORE_ALL_REF_SCOPE_SETTINGS YES
MODEL_ALLOW_REF_SCOPE_CHANGE YES
SCOPE_INVALID_REFS COPY

Try this
In assembly activate the file you want to copy to (right click in model tree)
In the assembly set the pick to Geometry and select a surface patch of what you want to copy.
Hit edit Copy
Hit edit paste.
You should get a feature window.
Select detail. A new window will open up. Now you can select the full quilt you want to copy.
hit okay
hit the check button.
the new feature will reside as the last feature in the activated file.
SAVE
You can reorder the feature to almost anywhere in the model.
