Dear All,

I can not figure out how to model either a euler-bernoulli or timoshenko beam in Abaqus CAE. I dug through the ABQ documentation but I am still not sure how to do it. I understand that one can define a transverse shear stiffness in the edit beam section window. However, does that mean that, once transverse shear stiffness is defined, ABQ uses the timoshenko theory? Furthermore how and where do I specify the timosh.-shear-coefficient for a solid circular beam section.

Thanks!

Have you checked sections 3.5 and 12.13.11 of the manual(ABAQUS Ver. 13).
