How to delete tool from NX6 tool library? External tool editor needed!

Hi there.

I want to delete some tools from NX6 tool library, so it would match my real workshop tools, but i cant find any delete possibility in the program.

I also want to know if there is any way to externaly edit tool database. I am thinking more like excel style table, because there is a lot clicks involved and time necessary for editing database inside NX.

You can open the tool_database.dat file in WordPad and delete the entry for the tools you do not want. I would make a copy of the original file first.

Look in UGS\NX 5.0\MACH\resource\library\tool\english\

I have seen some companies use Microsoft access to manage the database file.
