I have to control a bottom flange of a steel beam. Flange is loaded by timber beams that are carrying some insulation and some ceiling plates) - load of this is around 30 kg/m2 (0,30 kN/m2).
I have seen a similar thread on this site once upon a time and there were some talking about yielding lines but not much further. How do you guys do this? There are no steel stiffeners. Point loads from timber beams on a steel flang shouldnt be large, but I want to make a control of steel flanges and web, but I dont know what is the propr way to deal with this. Do any of you guys have some examples - calcualtions of something like this?
