What's your problem?

"_offset"
"_copy"
...or did you search for "_multiline"?

Thank you very much!! I am very new to this Autocad. I got it..can you tell me if I could modify the dimension to cahnge the drawing? I did so in Pro-E but not sure about autocad
thanks again

bhyrav,

can you specify the problem? I'm from the metric side, so I can't say anything to ' '' and "'"...;-)

I am trying to do solid modeling using Autocad and having bunch of problems, as I am not that familiar with this software. So I am trying to modify the dimension in order to modify drawing. Is tha possible? I know it is possible in Pro-E.
thanks,
Bhyrav.

AutoCAD is not a bi-directional, parametric solid modeller.

If you stretch an object in AutoCAD, and include the points that the dimension is attached to, both the object and the dimension will change. If you stretch the entire object, it will move and the dimension will update. You can't change the text of the dimension and expect the object to change. That's not AutoCAD, though arguments can be made that it should work that way.

The last 2 post are correct.

Autocad is not a parametric modeler like ProE. It does not have the capabilty to change an object if you change the dimension. If you want to change the dimension of a line...you have to manually stretch or extend the line.

Despite the fact that ACAD is not a Parametric Modeller , you can change it's property by the _properties , at the command line.
There you can change all CHANGEABLE PROP.

Changing dimensions will not change the solid object. Also, unless it's new since 2004, you cannot stretch a solid. You must offset the face + or - the amount you wish to change it.

Thank you all...now i got some aquintance with AUTOCAD and found this is not parametric. I am now using SOLIDWORKS.
thanks again.
