Hello,

I built a CAD geometry in Autodesk Inventor. I need to get the keypoints of the CAD model in APDL (k,ID,x,y,z). I exported the CAD file to IGES (.igs) and then I imported it into ANSYS Mechanical APDL. The problem is that, when I try to save the ANSYS log file (.lgw), the code regarding the keypoints are not saved. I know they are there, because I can see them if I list the keypoint of the imported file.

How can I export the keypoints of the model I imported into ANSYS, in APDL?

Best regards,
Andrade,

The keypoints are created by /aux15 while you are importing the IGES-file. This will never be saved with the log-files.

If you want to "recreate" the keypoints, areas etc you could create a ansys neutral file where the keypoints will be shown. Use this macro after importing your iges-file:
[link ansys.net/macros/anfout2.mac]ansys.net/macros/anfout2.mac[/url] to create an anf-file. Open with a text-editor and copy the lines defining keypoints.

Hope this helps
Peter
