How to Extend Digital Camera Battery's Life for 6 Hours?

I recently purchased a Mini DV VD80 Pocket Digital Video Camera:

I would like to have it record 6 hours of continuous video footage. It has a Built-in Li rechargeable battery which lasts about 2 hours.

Also, the MINI-DV doesn't allow recoding while the battery pack is connected. Using an AC adapter converter to USB also doesn't allow recording since it must be the actual adapter with a mini plug.


Any ideas?

I was thinking of connecting LiPos in parallel. Or perhaphs using a battery such as this:

Wouldn't one think that this battery would go where the normal battery goes, while the AC charger goes to the charging plug?

I opted to go with this battery and charger:

The battery is soldered directly to the cameras circuit board, so I'm not sure how you charge it?

So, you'd better get the soldering iron out, then, assuming that your charger will even charge the battery you're planning to buy.

So, you just solder the battery to the board and charge it with the alligator clips on the charger?

If it's the same voltage and chemistry as the original battery, you just solder it in, and let the camera's charger deal with it. You don't need the extra charger unless you're in a hurry.

The fact that you didn't realize that scares me a little, for you.
