I have started seeing designs with significant amount of annotations built into them instead of 2D drawings.

What is the best/fastest way to extract these into a separate document?

I am looking for any kind of macro or program that I can purchase to speed up the process.

Hi.

There's quite complete Automation API for FTA in V5. What data would you like to retrieve for each annotation?

I want just about everything extracted an in a separate document.
That way the shop and inspection department can look at all the annotations without having to have the model open.

About everything, really? Do you need annotation coordinates or length of it's leader?

To get "everything" you have to open it in CATIA. Period.

I understand, I do not need that detailed of information.
I am after a visual representation of what the annotation is and what it is pointing too, like you would see on a drawing.
These annotations are used instead of a drawings so there is a bunch of them.
I have read about software that runs through the model and activates the views or captures and screenshots it and places it either in a folder or PPT.
That is the type of output I am after.

MBD is the future, but my shop still needs paper copies to assist in building and inspecting.

I totally vet you on paper copies issue.

Actually the software you've described (screen capturing one) may be easier to replicate than to get all kind of data from all kind of annotations.
