Hello -

My company utilizes 5 chemicals for our wastewater treatment process, and we are trying to drive out what cost we can by moving to more concentrated chemicals.

Question: how does one go about finding the registration requirements for a chemical. We purchase it currently the desired concentration, but will our status as a company change if we move to stronger concentrations and then diluting these down.

Specifically, I am curious about sodium chlorite.

A starting point is to get the information from the manufacturer:

After that, contact the state EPA where your facility is located.

Some states have enacted registration requirements for toxic chemicals. For example: "FACILITIES REGULATED UNDER THE
NEW JERSEY TOXIC CATASTROPHE PREVENTION ACT".
