Howdie.

Was trying to get a drawing to automatically use a particular csys in the part, but can't seem to find out how to do it. I tried "drawing_view_origin_csys" but it doesn't seem to do anything.

Thanks for any replies![smile]

The option "drawing_view_origin_csys" makes the view origin the selected csys it does not control the orientation. That is defined by named views in the model or by selecting geometry from the part.

Thanks for the reply, PeterStock.

I was hoping that there was just a simple "one-click" solution to tell the drawing to orient itself to a desired csys, but I guess PTC isn't there yet.

Thanks for responding.

If you change Orientation of main view the Projected Views will update. The Main view will show up as a General view in View Properties Double click the view to see the View Options.
You can create a Main View using a Part CSYS and selecting Z axis to point Front and Y-axis to point up or X to point Right if you want that orientation.

Oh, OK. So you CAN do it. That's cool.

A little convoluted in PTC's convoluted way of doing things but that's exactly what I was trying to do.

Thanks for your help, Michael.
