How to import .ARC in nx ideas 6.3

Hi, im in trouble, i want import a file .arc in ideas , in pick file -- open, and set the name of part, the i pick import and select ideas library and then i go to mi file c:/werevweryouwhat.arc and clic open, ideas make a twice pop ups , but i cant see the solid in my screen,. im following the ideas user tutorial to make that called introduction nc, thanks,.

File / Import / I-Deas Archive File is what you want. Parts will be wherever the person who wrote the archive file left them, if not on workbench check in manage bins.
 
Make sure you do not have spaces in of the locations in the file path.

Hoepfully you have solved your trouble by now, but if not, another thing that I have seen some people hit, if they are not familiar with usage of the I-deas Archive files, is that, IIRC, the Archive Read/Write is an optional install when you installed I-deas.

So if you do not see the menu run as rothers described, check with your IT folks to make sure it was installed.
