Hi everybody!
I'm trying to inherit PMI GD&T to drafting sheet. I can only inherit PMI Dimensions (RMB>Style>Inherit PMI), but PMI GD&T symbols does not appear in drafting.
Anyone know how to do that?
The effect I need to achieve is to have tolerance associative to some parameter (in Expressions, e.g. dimension). I found PMI module good to achieve my goal.
Thanks for help!

Hi Olszowb,
Could you please send us a test part. Also in which view did you created this PMI GD&T symbol? In case you are inheriting the PMI symbol in the drafting view (same a s your model view) then it should be automatically inherited using MODEL VIEW option in the RMB>Style>Inherit PMI.

Test part named "block.prt" is in attachment. GD&T symbol (dimension + associative tolerance) in created on TOP view and this view is also shown on Drawing Sheet. I tried to inherit PMI thru Style tab (all of three possibilities) , but nothing appeared.

Hi Olszowb,
If i am not wrong It looks like you have used Tolerance stack-up validation (TSV ) feature for defining this.(Geometric Tolerances are a part of it i guess).
The solution to it is as follows...
(1) First of all go to the model navigator (you have created the PMI in TFR-TRI view) and make this PMI available to the view intended (TOP-VIEW in your case). Refer to the ppt attached (slide 1).This will make the PMI available to all views.
(2) Import the TOP-VIEW once more and this time before closing the dialog RMB go to VIEW STYLE and you will notice that in the INHERIT PMI tab you have one more option (INHERIT GD&T).(REFER TO SLIDE2 of ppt).

It will work.
Sorry i have NX8 and 8.5 with me so can't share the file with you.(i guess you are on NX7.5)
But I will suggest that you use normal PMI dimension (you can easily link your tolerances to expressions using the PMI dimension also and this is a preffered way of doing it)) for these rather than using TSV features.

Here is a simple version using inferred PMI dimension (i hope you are not going to make any Tolerance stack-up analysis on your model).Find the image attached showing linking the dimension tolerance value to expression value.

Great thanks!
Your solutions works well for me.
I also tried the way you prefer (avoiding using TSV), but I don't really know how to link tolerance to expressions. I simply write formula instead of tolerance digits (in Style), but link breaks after closing Style settings. Tolerance does not update after I change parametr. This way I need to enter Style settings and write formula with parameter again.

Okey, I didn't see your next posts. Now everything is clear to me.
Thanks again!

It works great. I didn't know that I don't have to write it manually :)
Thanks
