I'm newbie using SAP2000. I'm using SAP2000 to do my first push-over analysis for a bridge.

I want to know how should I interprete the push-over results, to be exactly.

how do I figure out the yield displacement, ultimate displacement, yield moment, plastic moment for my columns? shoudl I take the " IO" as yielding and "CP" as ultimate on teh push-over curve ? I know acedemically, the definition of the yield displacement, ultimate displacement are dibatable( as said in Priestley's new book)

Hi,

When assigning the hinge properties to the columns, you can specify the exact hinge properties by inputting plastic deformating capacity etc. based on the analysis procedure you choose. If you carry out a code-based procedure than these are defined in Sap2000. If you want to follow a new plastic hinge definitons Sap2000 allows you to define your own custumizable hinge property.
