How to know cohesive debond or not ?

Hi, I used cohesive element to modle sepatation.And, how could we know it debonded or not?

By ckecking the displacements of the nodes of the cohesive elements ???

Technically the cohesive elements do not separate, they just deform according to a traction-displacement law (a.k.a. traction-separation law, a.k.a cohesive law).

In general, the separation of the cohesive elements is a continuous process, and it is implemented through a reduction of their stiffness, mimicking damage and failure.
