Hi,

I currently have a script of a two bay two storey frame, which has fixed bases, but now i would like to make them all pinned bases.

The way i go about it is to change the D,28,all to D,28,ux and D,28,uy, is this correct?? Also when i run the analysis i get that the solution has not converged.

Does this non convergence problem have to do with the incorrect method employed to make the nodes pin based?

I am attaching the script that i have change to pin base.

Thankyou

The commands seem like they should work. I like to specifically put in the value of 0 instead of depending on the default, but that shouldn't be the problem since your fixed case worked. If the problem was with the restraints, the solution would error out on the first iteration. If you're having nonconvergence with a nonlinear problem, then the problem might have something to do with applying the load in too large a step or reaching a condition where you have yielding all the way through a cross section.
