Hi.
How do I make Plaxis calculate a complete deformation of an embankment until the total load has been applied?
We are modelling a gravel bed underneath an off-shore wind turbine, and the gravel bed consist of slopes, or embankment if you will, that will deform during the placement of the wind turbine until a stability has been reached.
We have done a laboratory test of a slope that shows a settlement of the slope of 50 mm with a load of 192 kN/m and I will like to recreate that load-settlement in Plaxis.
Our tests show that the width of the slope increases as the load is applied, please se the attached pdf, and I would like if Plaxis could take the increasement of the width into acount.
I know from GeoSlope that the final stage of the embankment is stable with a FOS=1.
I have tried to increase the load stage-wise with steps of 10 kN/m/m, but that doesn't give the right settlement.
The angle of the slope is the same as the angle of internal friction = 42 deg.
The material is a cohesionless material.
The E-modul is set to 12E3, but both the angle of friction and E-modul is ajustable.
I don't know if that is even possible in Plaxis, or if I'm asking for too much.
/Thanks
