How to match results from SAP2000 to ABAQUS 1

I am modeling a 4 story 1 bay steel frame in ABAQUS and I want to confirm the output results with SAP2000. However, there are minor discrepancies in the outputs. I am aware that shear deformations might contribute to additional deformation but I am not sure what else is going on behind the scenes that are causing the differences such as differences in reactions and minor deformation differences. I have ensured that no self-weight was used in either model and that no load factors.

any insight or input is highly appreciated.

Make sure that all settings (mesh size and type, material properties, boundary conditions, loads and interactions) are the same in both analyses. It’s easy to miss some small difference in preprocessing. But even with matching input you can notice discrepancies - FEA programs use different contact algorithms, element formulations and so on.

Do you have any books you could suggest for a deeper understanding of what is going on behind the scenes of ABAQUS something preferably with worked examples

For Abaqus there's no better source of information than its documentation available for all users. Honestly, it's very comprehensive and you can find everything there - descriptions of GUI options and software capabilities, keywords, theory, examples and so on. Thus, there's no need to buy any books about Abaqus (especially that it's hard to find anything worth getting). Just become familiar with the documentation, watch some video tutorials and practice a lot (perform various simulations) to gain experience in Abaqus.
