How to model a crack on an orphan mesh

Hi all,

I have modeled an orphan mesh 2D plate and I have been trying to model a crack. However, after I ran the job and visualize the results I do not see the crack propagation. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

I'm trying to model delamination and in the model I have simulated initial delamination but when I try to model the crack it just wont propagate.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

A picture of your mesh would be helpful. Fracture simulations are very dependent on the mesh.

Thanks for your reply. I have attached the input file and you would be able to see the orphan mesh part.
The plate is 2 x 6 and it is divided in 3 sections. If you divide the plate in two, the left side is divided in 2 sections thatare meshed and the nodes in the middle are not merge as a simulation of intial delamination. I want to continue the delamination using the crack feature from the last node in the middle of the plate and propagated in the same x direction.

Please let me know if you need additional details
