How to model/evaluate a supposed Horizontal well

We completed and frac stimulated last month a tight gas well (vertical, ~2200m). The frac sanded off, after ~80t of sand were gone into formation. Initial production 0.6mmscf/d. Well test analysis shows k ~ 0.1mD, S ~ -3.6, reservoir boundaries were not “felt” during the test.
Now, management wants to evaluate “what if” scenarios if we use the existing well to drill and go horizontally into formation.

The questions that I have are:
Do I have other alternatives other then going horizontally?
If not, how to predict the future production of such a well? (beside numerical simulators). How reliable would be a model (IPR) build in Prosper or similar?
Are there other factor that I should consider?

Thanks
