How to perform two-staged analysis?

I need to analyse two connected parts, but in two consecutive steps. In first step first part is made of material "A" (steel), second is made of material "B", witch exhibits very low stiffness, namely it has Young's modulus 10e6 times lower than material of the first part of assembly. Lets say, that during the first step stresses in the first part grows from 0 to 100MPa, and in the second part from 0 to 100e-6MPa. In the second step I change Young's modulus of the material "B" and now it's equal to Young's modulus of material "A". In the second step stresses in material "A" grows from 100MPa to 200MPa and in material "B" (changed) from 100e-6MPa to 100.0001MPa. In the beginning of the second step strains in both parts should be the same as in the end of the first step. Should I make use of restart or import analysis and how to do this? Have anyone any simple files made in CAE? I'll be very grateful for any help.

I think restarting an analysis will help to change the material property of the element. However, I would try to use the field variable function in the material,
Then use field variable 1 (material A) for the first step, and field variable 2 (material B) in the second step.
I use this method when I need to change the spring stiffness during an analysis. I think it could work for material too, but I have not tried it before.
