One of our customers requested we reorient our model assembly files in reference to the absolute CSYS. The biggest problem as a result of this is that the views in the drawings appear to be associated with the absolute CSYS as well. Every drawing needs to be fixed.

Even if the views in the model are updated, the views in the drawing are not associated to them. The only way I have found to fix the drawings is to manually orient the views(Style->Orientation->Rotate to Plane) Unfortunately, this is only an option on select views as section and detail views do not have this feature.

If anyone knows of a way of fixing my drawings I would be really grateful to them. Also, I would really appreciate it if anyone had any insight on a convenient way of reorienting models for future reference.

Thank you

Are the drawings and model files separate, as in master model concept?

No, this is in Native UG and the drawings are embedded into the master model file.

I would suggest using the master model concept, separate drawing file and model file. That way the orientation can be what ever in the drawing file.

Then you could use reference sets to show whatever data you need on the drawing.

In my honest opinion, it's a much better setup than having the drawing lumped into the model file.

Thanks,

Unfortunately I do not have a choice in the matter. We use teamcenter for most of our files however, for our purposes, the models needed the drawings embedded in them.

If anyone knows of a way of adjusting the orientation on section/detail views, either through drafting or modeling, please let me know.

Thank you
