On my computer I have AutoCad 2004 as well as 3.3 and my application needs to open 2004. I know that I have to use the CreateObject method in Visual Basic, but I'm not sure how to identify the specific version. Can anyone help? Thanks

Use version-dependent ProgIDs.

For example, if you are using CreateObject, instead of :
CreateObject ("AutoCAD.Application"), use
CreateObject ("AutoCAD.Application.16") for AutoCad2004.

For AutoCAD 2002, use CreateObject ("AutoCAD.Application.15").
